This four bedroom Wicklow holiday home sleeps up to seven in perfect comfort. Aughavannagh Cottage comprises a fully equipped kitchen with a huge old farmhouse table and oil fired range as well as a modern hob and oven. There’s a pretty sitting room with open fire, TV, video and stereo system - perfect for you to relax in after a days activities or sightseeing.
There are 2 beautiful double bedrooms upstairs. Downstairs there is a pretty twin bedroom and one single bedroom - all with gorgeous views as well as two bathrooms - one upstairs and one downstairs and a study/reading room.
There’s also a utility room separate to the main cottage with washing machine and dryer - ideal for muddy clothes and kids! This Wicklow holiday accomodation is set on 5 acres with ample space for sitting outside admiring the views and there is garden furniture and a barbecue for you and your guests to enjoy.
The Kitchen
Our Wicklow holiday cottage has a beautiful kitchen and it’s ideal for enjoying great Wicklow food - perhaps from the organic market at nearby Macreddin. There’s a big solid oak kitchen table and lots of chairs so everyone can gather round to make plans for the day. In the evening it’s perfect for dinner and perhaps a game of cards later on. There are great views to Lugnaquilla and the Wicklow Mountains and to the front - the pretty garden.
The kitchen is fully equipped so even the keenest of cooks will feel right at home. And if that’s not your thing well it doesn’t really matter – you’re on your holidays! The kitchen at Aughavannagh Cottage includes a dishwasher, electic oven and hob, fridge freezer, microwave, washing machine and dryer (and some great Irish cookbooks for inspiration!)
The Sitting Room
Chilling out with the turf fire lit, a glass of wine and some relaxing music is just the antidote to modern life! Our Wicklow holiday cottage provides you with authentic and comfortable accomodation. The sitting room at Aughavannagh is the ideal place for relaxing and unwinding at the end of a day in the Wicklow Mountains. An open fire, lovely comfortable furniture and if you wish, a television, DVD player, broadband/WiFi and an iPod docking station are all provided to make your Wicklow self-catering holiday as enjoyable as it should be.
The sitting room also has an excellent collection of books on Irish and Wicklow history and folklore as well as a good selection of contemporary titles to suit every age group and taste.
Bedrooms & Bathrooms
Lovely views, cool crisp Irish linen and bright pretty rooms await you at Aughavannagh Cottage. The rooms have fabulous views of the Wicklow Mountains or the pretty country garden and its easy to imagine falling asleep to the sound of the bubbling stream.
There are four bedroom in total - two doubles, a twin and a single. Upstairs there are two bedrooms – both doubles. Downstairs there is the twin and a single. The twin has views to Lugnaquilla and the single looks out over the courtyard and garden.
Upstairs there is a shower room and w.c and downstairs a shower, bath and w.c.. To make your journey easier we can also supply you with a travel cot if required
The Garden
Aughavannagh Cottage has a big private garden with magnificent views. Our cottage is situated on just over 5 acres and provides complete privacy for you and your fellow guests in an absolutely idyllic situation. The memorable views around the whole of Aughavannagh valley are fabulous – down the valley towards the pretty village of Aughrim nestling under Croghan Kinsella Mountain whilst in the opposite direction, the 3,000 foot peak of Lugnaquilla provides a picturesque backdrop for a barbeque or perhaps just lazing around with a good book.
For those choosing this Wicklow self catering cottage– the lovely garden is a great attraction. Ancient pines, foxgloves and native ash, holly and beech as well as daffodils, roses and forget-me-nots are to be enjoyed against the backdrop of a bubbling stream.
