‘A beautiful, traditional Irish cottage tucked away in a forested valley in the Wicklow Mountains, the 19th century Aughavannagh Cottage is lovingly restored with all mod cons. Located at the mid-way point of the Wicklow Way, it is an ideal base to explore nearby glens, old military roads, pilgrim trails and remote mountain routes - Glendalough and Brittas Bay beach are only half an hour away’. The cottage is lovely - clean, spacious, warm and quiet.
Stayed at Aughavannagh Cottage this last weekend. We had the joy of a cosy fire in the sitting room. We got out walking to a local waterfall as recommended by David, the owner. We also did the forest walk from the cottage. Thank you David.

Aughavannagh Cottage is such a lovely place with all the amenities you could wish for in a country cottage.
A lovely tranquil spot in the heart of the Wicklow Mountains. One can experience the true peace and natural beauty of the Irish countryside - and what a quintessentially Irish cottage! - from a real log fire in the sitting room, traditional country kitchen with Aga to the most comfortable beds we have ever slept on - with views of the country garden to go with! In the grounds, you can hear the gushing of a stream that runs close by. There is the occasional deer in the surrounding woods and beautiful views of the forest right on your doorstep. It’s a great place to base yourselves if you're looking to escape to the country and experience the fresh mountain air and green pastures, whilst having everything you need at the cottage to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay. Oh and almost forgot – cottage owner Dave was the perfect guide to Wicklow...very helpful and friendly indeed. Thanks again.

The cottage was fabulous: full of character and in a stunning location.
The rooms are cosy and the kitchen is a fantastic place to sit and chat or eat around the big table. The area is absolutely beautiful and has great walks / drives and a pub 10 mins drive away. A great getaway for a gang of friends or a family.

The house was great. Everything you need was there. The location is very peaceful and quiet.
The host was very kind and friendly and he helped us out a lot with very much information. Not only about his house but also about Dublin. I would come here again for sure!
