Brittas Bay

If you want to rent a holiday cottage near Brittas Bay (Irish - Cuan an Bhriotáis) Aughavannagh Cottage is a little over 30 minutes form this lovely beach. Brittas is just north of Arklow in County Wicklow and is one of Ireland's prettiest beaches and it's a favourite destination for our guests. One of several Wicklow blue flag beaches, the Brittas is reached via Aughrim and is just over 30 minutes from Aughavannagh Cottage.

The clean white sands stretch for 5km along the Irish sea coast near Arklow with the Wicklow Mountains as a back-drop. Behind the beach are extensive sand dunes and the whole area is great for a picnic or a swim. The beach is generally regarded as safe and is a great sopt if you are interested in outdoor activities. There are life guards on duty during the summer for swimming and other water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. For those staying at Aughavannagh Cottage, Brittas Bay is also a good spot to go bird watching and walking along this beautiful beach- regardless of the season has long been popular with those staying at our Wicklow holiday accommodation.
