Behind the beach are extensive sand dunes and the whole area is great for a picnic or a swim. The beach is generally regarded as safe and is a great sopt if you are interested in outdoor activities. There are life guards on duty during the summer for swimming and other water sports such as kayaking and canoeing. For those staying at Aughavannagh Cottage, Brittas Bay is also a good spot to go bird watching and walking along this beautiful beach- regardless of the season has long been popular with those staying at our Wicklow holiday accommodation.
