Christmas & New Year

Wicklow Holiday Cottage for Christmas & New Year

Christmas and New Year in Wicklow is so very beautiful. There’s snow on Lugnaquilla Mountain which rises behind the cottage and the festive celebrations in the local village of Aughrim are guaranteed to get anyone into a holiday mood. We decorate Aughavannagh Cottage with seasonal holly from the garden and lots of decorations. You are welcomed with the turf fire lit and a nice bottle of bubbles waiting for you in the fridge.

The centrally heated cottage comprises:

  • Fully equipped kitchen with all appliances
  • Gorgeous sitting room with open fire
  • Two double bedrooms
  •  A twin bedroom and a single bedroom
  • Two bathrooms

It’s a short drive from Dublin and ferries or airports but a completely different world. Forests, mountains and lakes, long walks in breathtaking countryside and Christmas and  New Year pints and craic in the local pub in Glenmalure.

Meanwhile the fully equipped kitchen complete with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, fridge freezer and a host of mod cons awaits even the keenest chef!

If the great outdoors is important to you – you can’t beat the Wicklow Mountains at Christmas and New Year. Aughavannagh Cottage is on the Wicklow Way – Ireland’s most famous long-distance walking trail. Snow covered Lugnaquilla Mountain rises over 3,000 feet behind the cottage and climbing Lugnaquilla in winter is a target for hill walkers.

If you prefer to just relax and chill out beside the turf fire with a good book – then this Wicklow Cottage for this coming Christmas and New Year is the perfect antidote to modern life.
